Chesterfield County Fair Association 2011 Scholarship Award Winners
Jessica Ann Fee
Jessica Ann Fee is the daughter of Michael and Suzanne Fee of Chester, Virginia. She is a graduate of Thomas Dale High School in Chesterfield, Virginia and will be attending Richard Bland College in the fall. Jessica was a 4 year member of the Key Club at Thomas Dale High School. After volunteering many hours at MCV hospital, she continued her dreams of nursing by recently completing the National Registered Medical Assistant certification through the Chesterfield County Technical Center. Outside of school she is the President of the 4-H Chesterfield County Teen Club, served four years as teen counselor at Jamestown 4-H camp, and a former Dean of Women. She has been selected to be a 4-H All Star, the highest honor for 4-H in Virginia. She has donated numerous hours to her community. Jessica has danced with Angel De Souza's school of dance for 11 years. To begin her future, Jessica plans on majoring in nursing at Richard Bland College.
Tracy Cole
Tracy Cole is the daughter of Terry and Penny Cole of Chester, Virginia. Tracy was the salutatorian of her class at Lloyd C. Bird High School with a GPA of 4.9. While at Bird, Tracy participated in orchestra, Ultimate Frisbee, tennis, and field hockey. During her senior year, Tracy was co-captain of the varsity field hockey team. She was also named to the Dominion District All-Academic Team and All-District Second Team each of her three varsity seasons. During her sophomore year, Tracy was co-captain of the tennis team and MVP. Tracy was involved with the German Honor Society, Math Honor Society (Mu Alpha Theta), History Honor Society (Phi Alpha Theta), and National Honor Society. Tracy also received the Woodmen of the World American History Award, Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award, United States Army Reserve National Scholar/Athlete Award, Sportsmanship Award, Outstanding Business Student Award, and Perfect Attendance Award, among others. This year she was a finalist for the Lexus of Richmond Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award. Tracy is a member of Three Chopt Presbyterian Church. She will attend Christopher Newport University in the fall to study Business and will participate in the Presidential Leadership Program and Honors Program.
Jessica Clanton
Jessica is the daughter of Annette J. Clanton and the late James E. Clanton. She is a graduate of the Mass Communications Specialty Center at Manchester High School, Class of 2011. Her next step in life will be to attend Virginia Tech in the fall, majoring in public relations and business management. Future plans are to one day be a sports commentator for ESPN, be the CEO of her own sporting agency and just to make a difference in the world by opening up jobs and helping the world. Jessica would really like to say thank you to the scholarship committee, and she is truly honored to get this award. This will definitely help further her education at Virginia Tech.
